MCLENNAN- Mrs. Betty Ruth Downing McLennan age 72 of Rosemary Avenue Brewton, Alabama passed away Wednesday morning May 16, 2012 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Mobile, Alabama, A former resident of Belleville, Alabama, and a long time resident of Escambia County, Alabama. Mrs. McLellan was a member of the East Brewton First United Methodist Church, A 1957 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, A graduate of Judson College, West Georgia College, and Livingston University. Mrs. McLennan taught school in Pensacola, Florida, Dallas, Texas, Birmingham, Alabama and retired Elementary School Teacher from the Brewton City School System with 23 years of service.

Survivors: Former Students and Friends including- Marcia DeGraaf of Brewton, Alabama Shae Walker of Brewton, Alabama Vicki Thornton of Birmingham, Alabama Several Cousins Preceded in death by: Husband- Larry McLennan

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon May 20, 2012 from 2 until 3:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church Brewton, Alabama.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Sunday afternoon May 20, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Mathieu and Rev. George Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Brewton, Alabama with WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME OF BREWTON, ALABAMA DIRECTING.
